Camp Focus: Phuket Top Team

Started by Australian, Boyd Clarke and long regarded by fighters as one of the Asia’s top training camp. Phuket Top Team was started in 2012 and their camp slogan "No Egos, Only Dedication” says it all.

Phuket Top Team has one of the best coaching lineups in Asia today.

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is headed by Prof. Olavo Abreu, a 5th Degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under the legendary Carlson Gracie and the former head coach at Brazilian Top Team.

The No Gi Grappling and Wrestling program are headed by Eric Uresk, a USA National Level Greco Roman wrestler who was trained by legendary Soviet Olympic Coach Yuri Valensky. Eric is also a Black Belt in Judo under 8th Degree Judo Black Belt, Joe Turchiano.

The Muay Thai program is run by Nonsai Sor Sanyakorn, a 2x world champion, Lerdsila Chumpairtour, a 3x Rajadamnarn stadium champion, Laemtong Tor Ponchai, former channel 7 champion and Nampon PK, former Rajadamnern and WMC champion among many others.

The Boxing program is headed by a Thai national and WBC champion with a career record of 56-1, Oleydong “The Deadly Candy” Sithsamerchai.

Recently Phuket Top Team introduced the Dutch Style Kickboxing program which is headed by K-1 Germany Grand Prix Champion, Pascal "The German" Schroth.

Phuket Top Team have a unique membership quota policy, keeping membership to 100 members so as not to overcrowd the camp. They believe that with a limit, they can maintain a team and family atmosphere. Also quality can be ensured, which the management at Phuket Top Team believe is important.

Phuket Top Team owner, Boyd Clarke mentioned that they will list how many available spots they have for the upcoming months via the Phuket Top Team Facebook page, so if you are intending to make a trip down to Phuket to train with PTT, do give it a check.

Phuket Top Team has always been one of the most preferred training camps in Asia for fighters fighting in the UFC. In recent months, fighters like UFC Middleweight Champion, Michael “The Count” Bisping, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Rashad Evans, UFC Women’s fighter and former Strikeforce Champion, Cris Cyborg have all made Phuket Top Team their choice of camp for training.

UFC Legend, Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira, BJJ Legend, Carlson Gracie Jnr among many others had chosen to hold seminars at Phuket Top Team as well.

Phuket Top Team also have a fight team with fighters fighting in MMA promotions all over the world, including Desert Force Championship contender, Youssef Wehbe, Full Metal Dojo fighter, Trevor McKenzie, ONE Championship fighter, Robert Lisita among many others. 

With their affiliation with China’s Kunlun Fight, Phuket Top Team is fast making a statement in the fight world.
